Around SBN: Interview With UMD Athletic Director, Dr. Debbie Yow

Really?

Dilemma: Say you're an NBA general manager. It's September and training camp's coming soon. Only problem is that you have 17 players on your roster and need to pare that number down to 15 in the upcoming weeks. But who to cut? Just about every candidate is either too promising or too expensive to be sent packing. What's the solution?

If you answered "fuck it all and chase after the 36 year-old skeleton of your former overpaid knee-less shooting guard", then you are correct!

This just doesn't make sense. Hopefully Allan Houston doesn't feel the same loyalty to the Knicks that they evidently feel towards him. Free Demetris.

Does he think we're retarded?
This is one of those "please the fans by signing a former fan favorite" move. Recent examples include two years ago Tino Martinez and Vinny Testaverde for the Yankees and Jets respectively. Problem is, the Yankees needed a defensive first baseman a few years ago and the Jets needed any fuckhead with an arm and legs at quarterback.
The Knicks have at least three or four better alternatives to Allan Houston. Allan would serve no practical purpose on our team.
I won't just go like "hey! I remember that guy!" and cheer. Although that does happen if you wave shiny objects in front of my face.

Wow.......................
I will be so pissed if Nichols is on the Celtics roster this year (or any f ing team other than the knicks. Amazingly dumb
I'm think I'm gonna average like 10 points, like 12-13 dimes, like 2.. 3 assists and about 4 -5 rebounds

hot nichols
right now has got 2 bring the same that houston does if not more right? not 2 mention hes not 82 years old with a fucked up knee. i loved allan but i feel doing this would just contradict everything that zeke has been trying 2 do with this team, younger and athletic. houston falls into 0 of those catagories

Doubful...
Everyone knows that Dolan is best friends with Allan Houston... if he really wanted Houston on the team, he would be on the roster already.  This is Dolan doing his boy a favor, and helping give him some leverage by faking "demand" for him (i.e. inviting him to tryouts, sending out feelers for him, etc.)... no way Houston will be on the Knicks roster.

The newspaper beat writers are just doing their job, and sucking up to Dolan by pretending the Knicks are really interested, instead of pointing out that it is just a ploy....
