Game Thread: Knicks at Nets- 1-16-08

Hey, everybody. The Knicks are at the Izod Center this evening to play the New Jersey Nets (note: I thought that Izod was a pretty stupid brand to name an arena after, as only old, golf-playing white dudes purchase their apparel. Then I realized that my grandpa is the only person I've ever known to attend Nets games. Touché, East Rutherford). Here's some irony: In a season marked mostly by loss and disappointment, the Knicks are looking to win the season series against the Nets for the first time in a while.

All my Knick-stincts lead me to believe this one's gonna be a loss, but I'll be watching, threading, and recapping the game tonight. If you're watching along, feel free to come by. The first 20 people to comment get a complementary Posting and Toasting beach towel, courtesy of me.*

p.s.
there is no way the knicks will win tonight. analysis of past win-loss trends tell me so. sorry.

hmm
by "win-loss trends" do you mean "the knicks lose far more often than they win"?

i'm cuttng steph a break
He's depressed IMO. He's using this ankle thing as an excuse to go away. Hopefully he seeks professional help.

by DoctorK16 on Jan 16, 2008 7:30 PM EST up reply actions

possibly
i find it hard to believe that someone would get their ankle cut open as a way out of something else, though. which makes the idea of steph doing this because he doesn't like the team or has beef with isiah pretty ridiculous.

ugh
none of the ball movement or defense we saw the past two games. this isn't looking good from the outset.

It's weird
Knicks look... good. They look excited. They look interested. They look willing to get into fights if an opponent gets called for a BS call. They look like they want to win games and play together. Isiah Thomas is putting the right players in at the right times. They look... good! What the fuck?

by Barnesgasm on Jan 16, 2008 9:35 PM EST reply actions

yea
this some bizarre shit going on right now....but Isiah will probably trade Lee and Jamal for Mike Bibby and Brad Miller tomorrow and everything will be normal again in the Isiah Thomas era of the world

playoffs? don't talk about...playoffs?
knicks are 6 games out of 8th (the nets) according to below... just saying

(http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/standings?season=2008&group=conference&seasontype=2&standT ype=standings)

I'm think I'm gonna average like 10 points, like 12-13 dimes, like 2.. 3 assists and about 4 -5 rebounds

by HoyaKnicksFan on Jan 16, 2008 10:47 PM EST reply actions

And...
We've gone from being second worst in the league to being 6th worst. Baby steps, people. Baby steps.

Kudos to everyone
That really was a good game. I haven't been that into a Knick game in a LONG time.
