Game Thread: Knicks vs. Kings- 1-2-08

It's a New Year, and the Knicks are primed to kick off 2008 against the Sacramento Kings at the Garden. The 11-18 Kings are probably a halfway decent squad, but are thoroughly ravaged by the injury plague. Ziller would hate me for saying this, but they're not unlike the '06-'07 Knicks in that regard. Anyway, I'm gonna catch as much of the game as I can and maybe recap if I don't gouge my own eyes out.

Undefeated in '08! Get them W's! Haha! Haha!! Yay!!111

Things:
As Marbury gets an ovation, which I wholeheartedly condone:

Remember when the Knicks won 6 games to start 2006? We should do that, but without the suckiness afterwords.
I also just remembered we recently lost to the Kings in double overtime, I think. This team is so damn bad, I can't believe I'm still watching.
Curry and Jeffries starting? Actually, Curry is looking nice, but I think Isiah Thomas has devolved from "regular Isiah Thomas stupid" to "a fucking rock with arms and legs stupid".
Jeffries airballed a 3. Kill him.

I, too, have things:
Is Curry gonna drop 100? (points?)

Steph started shaky but looks nice now.

I think my soul is dead
I just thought to myself "hey, that was a good quarter of basketball" and realized we were losing by 5 to an injury-ridden 11-18 team.

Word!
Was just gonna say the same thing. The offense was good. The defense was SO bad.

WAIT UP
Is that the Knicks draft pick Dontae Jones? Or Dahntay Jones, who I think played for the Celtics?

wow
I am so sad that hearing the name "dante jones" sparks two seperate and startlingly accurate mental images of bad/mediocre past their prime nba players. And even sadder that dontae' jones hasn't played in the NBA since 1997, which surprised me for some reason.

Fuck it.
Have fun watching the rest of this game. I got some serious Northwestern University Wildcats to watch on ESPN2. If they're worse than the Knicks...

down 20+ with 18 minutes to go against
the Kings who's better players are all not playing, at home, this team has quit completely on Isiah. Firing him would be merciful.
