Game Thread: Knicks at Blazers- 2-1-08

Happy February, ladies and Gelabales. On an active day in the NBA, the Knicks are in Portland to face the Trailblazers. As you'll hear many times this evening, this is Zach Randolph's first trip back to the Rose Garden since this summer's big deal. Being a bitter, sarcastic Knicks fan, I'd love to see Z-Bo drop like 30 and 15 on 12-14 shooting in a blowout Knicks win. I love these Blazers, but I especially love when a good storyline gets thoroughly shit upon. I know that won't happen. Just let me dream.

Meanwhile, would you really do that trade back? Sure, Zach's a ballhog and the Knicks suck and we're even deeper into salary cap oblivion, but like...CHANNING FRYE. I don't miss watching that dude fiddle with his mouthguard night after night. In the era of HD television, I'll take Z-Bo's neck rolls over Frye's stringy saliva any day of the week. And don't even get me started about that peach fuzz.

It'd be fun to shut some people up, if just for a night. Get them W's.

(For a fantastic Blazers perspective and far more mature discussion, check out Dave and friends at Blazers Edge.)

No E-City
or Q.Rich, why not start Jeffries for size? I dig Nate getting the start though, sit Freddy.

The game's on ESPN also
So expect an embarassing blowout.

And the Lakers get Gasol
for a bag of charcoal and some Twizzlers. Sigh...

FRYE!
I miss the guy kinda, actually.

Wouldn't it be funny if Gasol
retarded Bynum's development like ZBo did with Curry? Or do things like that only happen to the Knicks?

by HUSTLE HARDER on Feb 1, 2008 10:55 PM EST reply actions

I hate how Zack
telegraphs when he's about to shoot all the time.

by HUSTLE HARDER on Feb 1, 2008 11:00 PM EST reply actions

He should shoot like that more!
quick stops and pops, kill all those long pauses with the rock

by HUSTLE HARDER on Feb 1, 2008 11:05 PM EST reply actions

Why does?
Jeffries try to shoot threes?

See...
How well the knicks play without Curry in the line up?  The man has feet for hands I hate to rip him like that cause he seems like a cool dude but damn! What do you guys think?

Steve Blake
still looks super dorky with the facial hair.

by JoshL on Feb 2, 2008 12:12 AM EST reply actions

this may just be me.....
but I think Steve Blake, with his facial hair, looks kinda like Derek Anderson of the Browns. anyone else see it? eh, maybe it's cuz all white people look the same to me. except David Lee, he's phenomenally better looking than all white (and black...hell every race) people

also, James Jones looks rather Andre Johnson-ish

Yes, they deserve to die, and I hope they burn in hell!

Should we be surprised?

wow....
I'm pretty sure I just witnessed a Knick commercial that featured Channing Frye and Stephon Marbury more than anybody else.....awkward....

This no shot clock shit is bullshit
Of all things, you'd expect those to be a major thing to have back-ups of, or people who can fix them, or something. Ridiculous.

When Crawford is cold
why does he still try shooting?

I don't care how clutch Crawford is
The guy's 6-25 from the field... you just don't give that guy the ball in crunch time.

Just fantastic
Who the hell can shoot a three on this team when the clock ticks more and more?

And why was no one even TRYING to block Jarret Jack's fucking shot?

Why didn't he go for a fucking three?!
Fuck this team. This shit is ridiculous. Los Angeles, they blew the lead. Golden State, the blew the lead. Portland, they blow the fucking lead. Christ.

it's bad enough that this team has to lose
now that they are actually playing good basketball, they have to lose in an excruiatingly painful way every fucking night.

and i appreciate jamal's effort but after awhile you have to get a fucking clue.  if your shot isn't falling, it isn't falling.  don't try to shoot yourself out of a slump.  1-11 from 3?  ugh.

i think it's even more frustrating to see that they CAN play well and still blow it rather than just getting run right off the floor.  as a side note, i think im older (24) than every single active player on the blazers roster.

Ewing with the step...YES! and the foul!

by Anthony Masons Haircut on Feb 2, 2008 7:26 AM EST reply actions

Crawford...
The most frustrating thing about Jamal's awful shooting tonight is that he kept chucking up long jumpers (like three point area).  If you ain't sinking them, maybe try driving, or shooting a floater, or at least going for a 15 foot pullup, instead of keeping at these long distance jumpers.  Ugh.
