Thursday Caracals

Good afternoon, Knick fans. New York lost another one last night, this time at home to the Dallas Mavericks. In a throwback to the days of Channing Frye and Kelvin Cato, the Knicks played careless, haphazard basketball for three quarters, only to have a spirited comeback fall short. I never thought I'd embrace memories of 06-07, but that's just how much it sucks to be a Knick fan right now. Some things:

  • In case Isiah hasn't insulted you enough yet...from the Times:
Thomas apparently had heard enough. Late in the game, he could be seen debating some fans sitting near the court. One of those fans, Mara Altschuler, was so enraged by the discussion that she sought out reporters after the final buzzer.

"He said it's the fans' fault because they don't have a good sixth man," said Altschuler, who has season tickets near midcourt. Her family has had the seats for more than 40 years, since the old Garden, she said.

If that's really the case, then Isiah can go fellate a caracal. Considering the slop his team puts out nightly, it's a blessing that fans are still filling seats. (Tip of the hat to the Fanhouse)

  • It's settled.
  • SML contemplates Isiah's job status.
  • The SLAM recap of last night's loss.
  • There was one near-highlight in last night's game. On one particular fast break, Fred Jones came VERY close to posterizing the bejesus out of someone...don't remember who. The dunk rimmed out and the order of the world was restored.
That's all for now, kids. The Knicks play again tomorrow against the Sonics. Peace.
