First things first...Quentin Richardson is done for the season because he had back surgery yesterday. Q got himself a microdiskectomy from Dr. Barth Green in Miami. Despite his breach of the universal axiom "never trust a guy named Barth", Richardson's surgery was succesful, and Q has his sights on playing a full, healthy season next year. His shooting, rebounding, and leadership will be missed in this playoff run, but I guess it's better to give the guy a shot at having a long, full career.
Anyway, the shorthanded Knicks follow Wednesday's win with perhaps their toughest game of the season. The Bockers head to Dallas tonight to face the nearly invincible Mavericks. The wild card is whether or not Dirk Nowitzki and Josh Howard will play. They both have ankle issues and are game-time decisions. Given the way the Knicks have played against shorthanded teams, it's tough to fully determine which scenario is preferable. Either way, the Knicks desperately need to string a few wins together, but tonight may not be the night. We'll see what happens.
This is a game thread, so post any comments about the game, Quentin Richardson, Pokemon, Venetian blinds, crab apples, and street hockey as the night goes on. I'll probably be out of the pad tonight, so I can't guarantee any detailed game notes. If anyone wants to do their own, I urge you to type up a nice, neat diary. If not, bring on the comments. Anyway, I'll recap later. The game's at 8:30, by the way. Go Knicks. Peace.
