Draft Day 2009

It's here. The date is June 25th, 2009, which means that the next 24 hours will be wrought with nonsense for your Knicks and teams around the league. In fact, the league-wide mayhem has already kicked off.

On the home front, we've been treated to a slew of rumors, the most recent of which was that of Donnie Walsh purchasing a late first round pick, which still hasn't quite happened. There are also trades on the table and like a dozen prospects rumored to be Knick targets.

This thread shall be the all-encompassing forum in which to discuss tomorrow's excitement. I was granted a last-minute opportunity to attend the draft, so I'm not sure how much I'll be around before and during the event. My computer's coming with me, but I'm not positive how much time and access I'll have, internet-wise. If I can post, all updates will stay in this thread. If I'm not here, be sure to check out the Twitter. Also, I recently found out about some new and pretty cool stuff I'll get to do tomorrow, which will become apparent in due time. I will say that if you're going to the draft, or just feel like stopping by beforehand, look for me hanging around the Garden in the hours preceding the main event. I'll want to talk.

Let's do this.

Update: First topic for the comments: Who's your guy? I really can't decide, but I think mine's either Rubio or Curry. Or Jennings. Or Evans. Or Holiday.

Update: Rumblings of a Lee-to-OKC deal in July, with Rubio being the main return.

11:19 a.m.: Gonna start doing it this way. Call it a mini live-blog. I'll be sharing links and any news I come across. For the moment, here's Joey.

2:23 p.m.: In the city now. Currently at a Starbucks near the Garden. Apparently the Knicks got the Lakers' 29th, which is awesome. They could chase down one of those shooting guards I mentioned yesterday, or perhaps go big with it. I'll probably be lingering around the corner of 33rd and 8th in a bit. Look for me. Also, check out my stylings from yesterday at Ball Don't Lie.

10:42 p.m.: Just read pretty much all the comments here. I don't mind Hill and Ghostface seems like a possible sleeper. It just doesn't feel done. Meanwhile, did anybody see me with the Israeli flag-wielding guys???
