Tuesday Geladas

Summer league begins today, y'all. The Knicks take on the Grizzlies, featuring my personal favorite and birthday-bro Longar Longar, this evening at 6. In the meantime, let's graze on some rumors and frivolities from around the web.

- The biggest little buzz this morning regards free agent, Nate Robinson. (Thanks to babyeater for the catch).

I see. Alan Hahn, who on top of all his journalistic savvy is fluent in Greek tells us that this means Olympiakos may chase down Nate this summer. It makes sense, but after some of the nonsense that's come out of Europe this past year, I'll wait to see if the rumor survives a swim across the Atlantic before I give it any thought.

If this does happen, anticipate a My Life In Ruins-themed post.

- Two more Hahn items: First, he guesses today's Vegas starting lineup will be the following: Douglas, Almond, Acker, Hill, Sene. That is a 100% P&T-approved starting lineup. I can't wait.

- Second, Hahn's been covering the Eddy Curry story like gravy. In last night's article, Hahn culls some choice quotes from Curry's trainer. The money line:

Curry weighs 328, Weatherspoon said, 30 pounds lighter than when he started a strict diet and fitness regimen in late May. For the first five days of the program, Curry was limited to fresh-squeezed juices and broths while he went through a cycle of a colon-cleansing product. He lost 15 pounds from that alone.

I read that article minutes before I fell asleep last night. You can't imagine the dreams I just had.

- Tidbit from the end of this Berman post: Peter Vescey will be honored with an award at the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield.

- Knickerblogger's Danilo Gallinari report card translates roughly to an "incomplete".

- You wanna see geladas? Go to the Bronx Zoo. They're awesome. Bring binoculars. Or Ethiopia.

- NYKnicks.com has some solid summer league coverage, including photos of Jordan Hill and Toney Douglas smiling at steaks (video of their lunch with Tina Cervasio will be at halftime of today's game. I wait with bated breath), and a full breakdown of the roster.

- Last, but certainly not least, the Disciples of Clyde, presented by FreeDarko (a Knicksier name than it was a month ago) are back with another superb episode. You will not hear mentions of the lovely hamlet of Mahwah, NJ juxtaposed with Fleet Foxes tunes anywhere else. Except for my house.

That is all. Let me reiterate that the Knicks are playing a summer league basketball game tonight at 6 p.m. on MSG. There will be a game thread here and we will be saying hilarious things about basketball and poop. Come join in. See y'all at 6.
