Announcing a T-Mobile Sponsorship, Free Tickets To Be Won

Update: Thanks to everybody who participated. Winners will be drawn in the morning. Sorry again for the short notice. There will be another opportunity to win tickets tomorrow, and all future contests will be a little more difficult/involved and further in advance.

Listen up, citizens. I've got some pretty exciting news to reveal to y'all that could directly result in your attending a Knicks game in the near future. This will be the first of a series of posts sponsored by T-Mobile. The company hopes to reach NBA fans, and felt that you all were a lively, dedicated enough community of Knicks fans to deserve its attention. Give yourselves a pat on the back. ONE PAT. Don't overdo it.

From today until the end of the season, P&T programming will continue as usual, with a few added elements:

- You'll see a little more T-Mobile branding around the site, which shouldn't be too unusual, since we've always had ads. It won't enter the body of typical news posts, game threads, recaps, etc., but there will be more sponsored posts like this one. They will be noted as such. You can check out Comcast's presence at Mile High Report for an idea of what the advertising will look like.

- There's going to be a weekly feature called the "T-Mobile Player of the Week", which I think is pretty self-explanatory. No reason we can't have some fun with that and make it interactive.

- This one's the kicker, though. T-Mobile is an official Knicks sponsor, and is offering the P&T community free tickets to a number of home games in the coming weeks. The seats are in the swanky T-Mobile suite at Madison Square Garden, and will be made available to winners of occasional trivia contests. This is fairly awesome. I am the farthest thing from a businessman you can find, so it's my instinct to reject sponsorships for fear of selling out. T-Mobile is demonstrating a great deal of interest and commitment to you guys as a community by making these tickets available, though, and I'm excited to have an opportunity to reward y'all for your participation.

So, uh...let's get to it. I have tickets to give away to Friday night's game against the Toronto Raptors, so we best get some trivia going. Here's how it's gonna work. I will pose a trivia question after the jump. You will answer in the comments section. I'd appreciate if answers were short, to the point, and without much additional editorial. I'd also appreciate if everybody comments only once from only one account. Don't test me. Comments will close at 9 p.m. EST tonight. I understand that's a short amount of time, but we're working on short notice for this one.

Once all the answers are in, users who have provided the correct response will be entered into a drawing conducted by SBN officials. 4 winners will be randomly chosen, and will receive 2 tickets apiece. Please don't enter the contest if you won't be able to attend the game tomorrow night at 8 p.m.. There will be plenty more opportunities to win tickets in the future. If you are chosen as a winner, you will be emailed by me or another SBN friend with details about reaping your rewards.

Meanwhile, I understand that the trivia apparatus is less than ideal from a quiz show standpoint. This is more about giving out tickets than stumping you guys, though, so just roll with it.

P&T would like to welcome T-Mobile as an official sponsor. Let's get to the trivia!!!!!!!!111

Posting and Toasting and T-Mobile (P&T&T) Trivia Bonanza #1-

The player holding the Knicks' all-time single-season record for minutes played beat the legendary Walt Frazier's '70-'71 season by just two minutes on the year. Who done it?

Answers in the comments. Keep 'em short. Commenting closes at 9 p.m. EST.

Love you.

If you have any questions or concerns about the sponsorship, feel free to comment and/or email me at ptknicksblog@optimum.net.
