Good evening, paypals. The Knicks and Nets square off tonight in what lots of people desperately want to be a cross-river rivalry. Rivalry or not, the Knicks need to start winning at home, and at 6-11, the Nets should be beatable.
I'm putting this thread up early because I'm on my way out for the evening and won't be around for the live action. I'll be up late watching the tape and recapping, though, so don't you fret (or celebrate, for that matter).
Nets Daily is here. It is a terrific blog with terrific commenters, but like any blog, it has a few folks that will take it upon themselves to come over to P&T and razz us. Pay them no mind. Meanwhile, I encourage you to check out Nets Daily and even leave some comments, but I insist that we are respectful and non-confrontational both here and at ND. That's always the case, but tonight's match-up seems riper for beef than most other games. "Riper for beef" is a pretty disgusting phrase. Basically, everybody be nice.
Tipoff's at 7:30. Go Knicks!
Update:
Knicks center Ronny Turiaf (knee) will not play and head coach Mike D’Antoni said “hopefully” he’ll return Friday at New Orleans. Wilson Chandler will start at the four and Amar’e Stoudemire slides to the five. Knicks guard Toney Douglas (contused right quad) will play after sitting out Sunday’s double-OT victory over the Pistons.
