Good morning, jack-o-lanterns. I hope everybody got a good night's sleep after one of the wackier Thursdays we've ever experienced. To recap, LeBron James is not a Knick, David Lee is no longer a Knick, and Anthony Randolph, Ronny Turiaf, Kelenna Azubuike, and Jerome Jordan are all now Knicks. It seems as if the Warriors involved in the Lee deal were relatively surprised by the transaction. Some reactions:
Azubuike was surprised, but excited and ever-faithful:
Wow well as some of u may have heard. NY here I come! Gotta thank the Lord Jesus Christ cuz he's in control of my life. I'm soooo excited!!
I'm really looking forward to playing for the knicks. I'm focused and determined to come back strong!!
Randolph, practicing with the Warriors in Vegas, was shocked and a little bummed to be leaving Golden State (via SLAM):
"I don't what to say," he said quietly. "It's so crazy. I can't gather my thoughts right now. My job is just to play basketball. I've always taken the position of whatever happens, happens. Still, it can be a shock when it happens."
Turiaf was in South Africa last we heard from him:
Safari.... Oh yeahhhhhhh!!!!
I haven't seen a reaction from Ronny anywhere. If you'd like to read a little more on each of these players, this post at GSoM (which was already Fanshot'd here) is a great place to start. In other news (thanks to Rohpuri), Peter Vecsey's sources think Donnie Walsh might retire soon due to health issues, which I imagine Walsh will adamantly deny in the near future. He might also kick Vecsey's source to death, just to prove a point.
For Vegas stuff, take the jump.
I've hinted at it, but here's the official site announcement: I'm going to Vegas. Either this evening or tomorrow afternoon (depending on my flight-changing success), I will fly out to Las Vegas to watch the Knicks play in Summer League. While I'm out there, I'll try to catch as many games as possible, try to interview some SummerKnicks, and try not to get strangled by a bookie. If you've got questions for players, suggestions of places to visit in Vegas, plans to be in Vegas yourself, or any other Vegas-related points of business, don't hesitate to email me or contact me on the Twitters. Vegas Vegas Vegas Vegas.
I'll keep y'all up-to-date on my whereabouts via Twitter and frequent posts. In the meantime, I'm going to go pack and collect my thoughts about David Lee.
