Amar'e Stoudemire might miss Sunday with a sprained knee.

Amar'e Stoudemire kept playing after Marvin Williams head-butted his popliteal fossa in the third quarter of last night's loss to the Hawks, but it turns out that his right knee is sprained. Injured knees are dodgy territory when it comes to Stoudemire, so it sounds like the Knicks might rest him for Sunday's game against the Pistons. Frank Isola twat it:

Amar'e sprained right knee. Questionable for Pistons

Knicks say Amar'e is questionable & D'Antoni says probable. Maybe NFL scribes, who only write about injuries, can tell us the difference

Shawne Williams, meanwhile, will definitely miss Sunday's game, as he has been suspended for one game after last night's tussle with Marvin Williams. Isola twat that (with an uncomfortable allusion to "fisters") as well.

With Williams out and Stoudemire and Wilson Chandler both injured, the match-up with the Pistons might be more difficult than expected.
