Preseason Pre-Game: Knicks at Wizards- 10/11/12

New, comments

The Knicks play the Wizards tonight at 7.

Debby Wong-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

(Hey, cool date!) Hi guys. Tonight, the Knicks will play competitive basketball in their proper uniforms against another team. I'm pretty excited.

A Knicks game means a P&T gameday, and I'm going to use the preseason to figure out exactly how we'll do gamedays with the new layout. I've got this cover section and StoryStream options to work with, and I might be trying different arrangements of pre-game, in-game, and post-game threads (plus the Reconnaissance posts once the regular season starts) to find the best routine. If y'all have input to offer regarding the gameday eXpEriEncE, I encourage you to speak up.

ANYWAY, this here is a pre-game thread, and we happen to have some pre-game injury news:

Via Al Iannazzone:

Amare is not dressing tonight. Bruised left knee he suffered in practice yesterday.

Nate Taylor:

If this was a regular season game, Amar'e Stoudemire would play. Stoudemire banged knees with a teammate.

As we've been discussing elsewhere, the Knicks are being extra cautious with everyone since nothing counts right now and there's no reason to push anyone who's feeling uncomfortable. It's a bummer that Amar'e's hurting and it's another bummer that we won't get a look at the proper lineup tonight, but better to sit than play through pain at this point.

Meanwhile, James White traveled with the team despite a sore hamstring, and may actually...try to play through pain tonight. So, uhhhh...yeah.

Anyway, here's your first pre-game post. What I'm going to try today is turning this post into a StoryStream to which I'll add updates (any other injury/availability news, lineup news) as they come. For now, this will set in the leftmost, biggest box (unless some huge news breaks) with other stuff filing in around it.
