Good evening! Tonight brings us the final installment of spotty, meaningless, don't-go-nuts-if-they-win, don't-sweat-it-if-they-lose preseason basketball. The Knicks will get a semi-preview of their regular season opener as they face the Brooklyn Nets in the charming hamlet of Uniondale, NY.
Lineup-wise, I've yet to see anything about who the Knicks will start. It'll either be Kurt Thomas filling in for Amar'e Stoudemire or, like the last game, Carmelo Anthony filling in at the four with an additional guard sliding Ronnie Brewer up to the three (Update: It'll be Kurt at the four, Melo at the three.). Brewer, who looked a little over-matched in his first game back since knee surgery, will try to play more minutes this evening and get himself closer to being in real game shape. All the other folks who haven't been playing during preseason will continue to not play.
The Nets, as far as I can tell, won't be resting anybody important. It remains to be seen whether the teams will actually battle in this one or just use it as a final opportunity to appraise their training camp invites. Probably the former.
Tip-off tonight is at 7:30. Come on in to comment along if you're watching. Check out Nets Daily as well, and if you choose to leave comments there, please make them respectful ones. Likewise, please be civil with any Nets fans who come to visit our comment section. And, as usual, please don't post large photos or links to illegal streams.
Yeah!
