Game Thread: Knicks vs. Heat- 11/2/12

Game one!

Steve Mitchell-US PRESSWIRE

AHHHHHHHH! It's time! The Knicks are going to play basketball and it's going to count! Excellent news! Well...perhaps not the most excellent news, since tonight's season opener is against the Heat and they are quite good and quite scary. Here are some pre-game updates which are mostly just reiterating what we'd already been told. From Mike Woodson, via Nate Taylor:

Knicks lineup is Felton, Kidd, Brewer, Anthony & Chandler.

Rasheed Wallace will likely play. Woodson doesn't feel comfortable playing Marcus Camby.

We were all already expecting both of those things, yes? Everybody but Amar'e Stoudemire and Iman Shumpert is healthy and ready to go, save for Camby, who will be in uniform but probably won't play. Jason Kidd will start at the two, sliding Ronnie Brewer and Carmelo Anthony up to the forward positions. I imagine that Melo and LeBron James will matched up with, ideally, Kidd on Shane Battier and Ronnie Brewer on Dwyane Wade. There'll be some cross-matching, I'm sure. We shall see.

This is a game thread! Comment along here and check out Hot Hot Hoops as well. Please don't post links to illegal streams or large photos in the thread, and please do spill some juice out for those Knicks fans unable to enjoy the game tonight because of that asshole hurricane. Tip-off is at 8 PM on both MSG and ESPN. GO KNICKS! BEAT THE HEAT AND/OR LOSE TO THE HEAT IN A FASHION THAT ISN'T TOTALLY DISHEARTENING!
