Good day, retrievers! The Knicks have a matinee on their hands, with the streaking Dallas Mavericks in town to face a Knicks squad that's still rather short-handed.
Let's run down that short-handedness quickly: Carmelo Anthony won't play. Neither will Bill Walker, who's elbow is bugging him. Thus, Iman Shumpert will start at small forward (it lacks shooting, but I love a Lin-Landry-Shump lineup). J.R. Smith and Baron Davis will both suit up for the game, but it would probably take an unusual scenario (serious foul trouble, a blowout one way or the other) for either of them to suit up.
So, uh, given the way the Mavs are playing, and given the way the injury-riddled Knicks have played over the last three games...this one could get a little weird. And, as is always the case with Knicks games that have the potential to get weird, it's on national TV. ABC, in fact (and not MSG).
