Game Thread: Knicks vs. Cavaliers- 3/31/12

[Update: Scroll down to the next post for Jeremy Lin news.]

Evening, calzones. I know that there are sissy college students playing basketball tonight, but don't neglect the electrifying match-up between the Knicks and Cavaliers on the schedule. After losing some ground in the playoff standings with a loss to the Hawks (and a Bucks win), the Knicks have a chance to redeem themselves tonight against the Cavaliers.

The Knicks tend to have trouble with the Cavs-- though they did beat them once this season with that huge second half-- but they'll need to find away to keep their edge on that eighth seed (they currently have a one and a half game lead). The Knicks are beaten up, of course, and the Cavs have some injuries of their own. Anderson Varejao and Daniel Gibson are still out, and Kyrie Irving hurt his shoulder last night. I'm writing this well in advance and have yet to hear whether or not Irving will play. That's a pretty important variable, but the Cavs have a way of causing trouble no matter who's on the floor (I still have fever dreams about Samardo Samuels killing the Knicks).

So, we'll see if the depleted Knicks can avoid a weekend sweep and another dip below .500. The game starts at 7:30. Comment here if you're watching, check out Fear The Sword for Cavs stuff, and please refrain from posting photos, .gifs, illegal streams, and lunar train schedules in the thread.

Woo!
