Mike Woodson's speaking to reporters right now, and he revealed a couple of personnel decisions for today and the rest of the regular season. First of all, Tyson Chandler, as requested, is going to get some time to chill. Al Iannazzone twat it:
Mike Woodson said Tyson Chandler won't play today. Landry starts. Amare plays 5.
I imagine Tyson will come back for some minutes before the season ends-- he doesn't have any specific injury, just regular ol' soreness and fatigue from dominating kids-- but he certainly deserves a day to rest.
Jared Jeffries, on the other hand, has a very specific affliction. That knee is still swollen and bothering him, and they've decided to just shut Jared down for the rest of the regular season in hopes of having him contribute in the playoffs. Again, this is why Jerome Jordan's back in town, why Dan Gadzuric got signed, and why I hope Josh Harrellson will get to spin for a while today.
So, ya know, we'll see how this goes. Perhaps this will help get Amar'e Stoudemire going offensively, but the defense seems likely to suffer. Let's agree in advance not to flip out if and when the Knicks lose, okay?
