Hello. I'm sorry to have to tell you this, but a lot of the players on the Knicks are injured. Amar'e Stoudemire, Jeremy Lin, Jared Jeffries, Bill Walker, and Dieterich Buxtehude are all out of commission for New York, but we've got updates on each, some of which are rather hopeful.
- Amar'e Stoudemire's status is oddly vague, in a good way. Stoudemire is traveling with the team on this road trip, and Mike Woodson used the phrase "day-to-day" when discussing his condition. Hell, he even gave something other than a flat-out "No" response to the suggestion that Amar'e might be ready this weekend. I'm still assuming-- for my heart's sake-- that we're talking about a matter of weeks, not days, but all the signs are encouraging.
- Jeremy Lin had his operation yesterday and begins rehab today. You know the deal. He's also been sending painkiller-addled texts to Tyson Chandler. A guess as to how that went:
- According to Tina Cervasio, Bill Walker has been cleared to practice, while Jared Jeffries is still sidelined, but hopes to be back at practice by the end of the week.
- Dieterich Buxtehude has died.
And those are your injury updates. Consider yourself up to date.
