As we continue through this awkward period in which the Knicks and Knicks fans have to wait for the rest of the league to catch up to them (the Knicks came in like sixteenth in the "Which Team Can Reach the Offseason First?" race), I'd like to do more of these "Best of the Season" polls. Earlier in the week, we determined that New York's best win of the season was on February 10th, when Jeremy Lin just devoured the Lakers at the height of the "Linsanity" craze. 'Twas a good choice, I think.

Today's project requires a bit more research and reminiscence, so I need y'all's help determining the candidates. Our goal: determining the Knicks' best dunk of the year. In this post and the comments section, we will assemble the contenders. In a subsequent post, we will vote. Think back to your favorite dunks of the year, see if you can track down the video (if it was really great, there's GOT to be video, right?) and post 'em here. Here are a few off the top of my head to start us off:

Iman Shumpert on Kevin Garnett

Iman Shumpert on Tristan Thompson

J.R. Smith from Mike Bibby against the Magic

J.R. Smith from Baron Davis against the Cavaliers

J.R. Smith from Baron Davis against the Hawks 1

J.R. Smith from Baron Davis against the Hawks 2

J.R. Smith's windmill against the Heat

The Shumpert-Smith double alley-oop against the Pistons

Jeremy Lin past John Wall

Landry Fields on Kris Humphries

Landry Fields from Jeremy Lin against the Raptors

Landry Fields from Jeremy Lin against the Kings

Amar'e Stoudemire on Tyrus Thomas

Amar'e Stoudemire on Jason Maxiell

Tyson Chandler putback on Mike Miller in the playoffs

Tyson Chandler from Carmelo Anthony against the Blazers

Carmelo Anthony on Greg Monroe

Carmelo Anthony on Joel Anthony in the playoffs

Oh my. I got carried away there. This might end up being a tighter race than I expected. Anyway, share any that I missed (that you think might genuinely contend for number one overall) in the comments and we'll get a voting thread going later today. There are definitely some missing. I think I'd like to narrow it down to ten for the final vote, if possible. (It's not going to be possible. I love all of these. We might have to have a separate alley-oop category or something.)
