Amar'e Stoudemire got engaged!

We mentioned in passing the other day that Amar'e Stoudemire was enjoying the beginning his offseason in France with a beautiful lady-- not a bad way to spend one's time at all. As it turns out, the beautiful lady pictured is Alexis Welch, Amar'e's girlfriend and the mother of his children. The two of them made their way from Cognac to Paris, where Amar'e reportedly proposed that they GET MARRIED TO EACH OTHER. From People(!):

Stoudemire asked Welch for her hand in marriage while overlooking the Eiffel Tower lights outside of their penthouse at Le Meurice Hotel Belle Etoile Royal Suite at 11 p.m. local time. He surprised her with a dinner after they spent the day taking a private historical tour of Paris that included stops at the Louvre and other landmarks.

"I have been planning my proposal for a while and overlooking the entire Paris skyline seemed like a perfect place. I am so happy she said 'yes,' and now we can continue to build our life together as husband and wife," Stoudemire told PEOPLE from Paris.

Guyyyyyyys! Congratulations to Amar'e and his fiance, who intend to make it official sometime next year. No word yet on whether Alexis has agreed to add an apostrophe to her name (Alex'is?) as a rite of passage into the Stoudemire family.
