Hey, here's a nice little thing that came out this morning. In a repeat of an event that took place two years ago, the Knicks and Raptors will play an exhibition game at the Bell Centre in Montreal this fall. Marc Berman:
The Knicks will face the Raptors in an exhibition game Oct. 19th in Montreal as part of the NBA’s first-ever NBA Canada Series.
The other north-of-the-border event will feature Minnesota vs. Detroit in Winnipeg. The Knicks played the Raptors in Montreal three years ago.
"NBA Canada Series", eh? Kind of a sissy follow-up to the games in Europe and China, but it's okay. They should add a game in, like, Nunavut to make it a little more exciting.
Anyway, this is probably meaningless news to most of y'all, but as someone who lives within reasonable driving distance of Montreal, it might be an excuse to take a weekend up there. If I can negotiate it, I'm gonna be in the house for this one.
(Hopefully this also signals that the Knicks will, as rumored, return to Saratoga Springs for training camp. That'd be neat.)
Update: As east_harlem points out, it looks like they'll be in Albany to play the Celtics the very next day. I assume that's part of the "NBA Hudson Valley Series".
