Adrian Wojnarowski (the real one. I counted the O's) just broke the news. Here we go:
Marcus Camby has reached agreement on a deal with the Knicks, league sources tell Y! Sports.
Houston and New York agreed on a sign-and-trade deal sending Douglas, Harrelson, Jordan to Rockets for picks, sources said.
The Rockets will get the Knicks' second round picks in 2014 and 2015, source tells Y! The Knicks will pay Toney Douglas' salary in Houston.
Camby has agreed to a three year, $13.2 million deal with the Knicks, source tells Y! The final year includes a partial guarantee.
Wait, what? The Knicks give up Jorts AND Jordan AND Douglas and NOT Dan Gadzuric AND they're GIVING two picks? I like Marcus Camby and I think he'll be great in New York but that is an obscene amount of assets to give up for one 38 year-old human being who played in 19 games last season (My bad. He played in 59 games). The "for picks" part of Woj's second tweet confuses me, so maybe there's more to this. I guess it's good that they kept their $3 million as well (Update: Maybe not? Maybe that's how they're "paying Toney's contract"??), and Gadzuric can still be used in a small sign-and-trade, but...sheesh.
Welcome, Marcus. Goodbye, TD. May you always DWTDD. Goodbye, Jorts. You were always country strong and I think you're going to turn into a very solid player. You too, Jerome. What happens with the Summer League roster now, eh?
Win now, I guess. I'm delighted the Knicks got Camby and I guess that's what it took to get him. Guh.
Marcus Camby's third year of his new Knicks deal is not guaranteed, but the first two years are paying $10 million, source tells Y! Sports.
