The Knicks have had a pretty astounding run of television appearances over the last year or so. Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire were on Sesame Street. Melo did Law and Order: SVU and Nurse Jackie. Amar'e kissed Ivana Humpalot on The Exes. Baron Davis is in, like, every TV show and movie ever. I assume there'll be a Smith Bros reality show in the near future. My Copelandia pilot still hasn't been picked up, but it totally will be. The Knicks are TV champs, and that trend will continue this fall.
Mindy Kaling, writer/"Kelly Kapoor" of The Office, has a new show coming out called The Mindy Project. I know this because I opted not to pay for Direct TV on my flight to Las Vegas and thus had to watch the same promo for that show about 904 times. Anyway, the word from Entertainment Weekly (the URL "ew.com" always makes me laugh) via The Knicks Journal, is that Amar'e and Baron, along with a Knick nemesis, will make guest appearances on that show:
New York Knicks forward Amar’e Stoudemire, free agent guard Baron Davis, and Indiana Pacers forward Danny Granger will play themselves in the fourth episode of Mindy Kaling’s new Fox comedy, EW has learned. In the episode, Kaling’s gynecologist character goes on an outing with her co-workers to a nightclub, where she winds up hanging out in the VIP section with the three NBA players .
"Kaling's gynecologist character then proceeds to help Stoudemire hold Granger down while Davis pokes him in his eyes and tapes his fingers together". I hope. So, yeah. More Knicks on TV. That fourth episode should be out sometime in mid-October, before the season starts, so maybe I can make a thread and we can all watch it together and stuff.
