Good afternoon, friends. The quarterfinals of men's Olympic basketball are underway! Russia eliminated Lithuania in a very entertaining morning game, and Spain just defeated France despite Nicolas Batum's best contraceptive efforts. The Knicks portion of today's competition begins this afternoon (Eastern Standard Time) with Pablo Prigioni's Argentine squad in action followed by Tyson Chandler, Carmelo Anthony, and the U.S. facing Australia. Here's the schedule:
3:00 EST: Brazil vs. Argentina
5:15 EST: United States vs. Australia
It looks like both these games will be televised live on the NBC Sports Network. The winners of each contest will go on to face one another in the semi-finals on Friday, which means that another three-Knick Olympic game is a distinct possibility.
If you're watchin' the basketball (or any Olympics, or any sports, or any TV at all, or just some rowdy bumblebees humpin' outside your window), feel free to comment along in this thread.
