That one kinda reminded me of the previous Knicks game this season. New York defended and moved the ball only in spurts, but those spurts were enough to build a big lead over the Pistons that couldn't be compromised even over some rough stretches.
Hot shooting and decent defense in the first and fourth quarters made up for some stagnant offense, turnovers, and inability to contain ball-handlers (Will Bynum in particular) at other points. Despite some poor shooting after a soupy start, Carmelo Anthony led all scorers with 26 points. Amar'e Stoudemire had his best offensive game off the bench, drawing tons of fouls to score 17 points on just five(!) shots.
And of course: The Return of Shump. I'll go into detail of Iman Shumpert's debut in the recap, but for now, suffice to say it went pretty well.
Got the Shump, got the win. Good job, guys. Get home safe (after a few more days in London). I'll be on for my usual radio spot (but post-game this time!) at 6:30 and the recap should be up soon after.
