Workin' on my Knicks-Pistons recap right now, but they apparently just announced the starting lineup for the Eastern Conference All-Stars, and they are as follows:
Dwyane Wade, Rajon Rondo, LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Garnett are your East All-Star starters.
Cool. Definitely no intra-squad beef there. Whether or not he's got a teammate liable to hex his entire family, Melo deserves to be an All-Star and it'll be fun to watch him in Houston next month.
As for the rest of the Knicks, Tyson Chandler seems like a likely candidate to get voted onto the bench by the coaches, while J.R. Smith has a very outside shot of getting voted in as well. I'm more looking forward to the possibility of Knicks in other events: Steve Novak in the three-point shootout, James White in the dunk contest, Chris Copeland maybe in the rookie-sophomore game(???), and, of course, Kurt Thomas in the skills contest. That's the stuff I actually watch and I'm looking forward to hearing the lineups for those. (Incidentally, if the Knicks are in first place at a certain point, Mike Woodson will be the head coach of the East. I assume he'd make all the starters but Melo play 48 minutes apiece, right?)
Congratulations, Melo. Keep up the great work.
