Injury updates before the Knicks take Texas

Melo could return Thursday.

Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

Hey! Happy New Year to all of you. Knicks things are rough right now, but don't forget that we had some good times in 2013. Like that time the Knicks took a series off the Celtics. That was good. The Knicks are in the midst of a nice long break. They won't get back onto the court until Thursday in San Antonio, the first vertex of a Texas Triangle road trip. Here are where injury things stand going into that trip:

1. It sounds like Beno Udrih will still be the starting point guard (and Toure' Murry will still get minutes). Pablo Prigioni's broken toe and Raymond Felton's groin/thigh/whatever won't be ready.

2. Metta World Peace will remain out until after he gets that blood sorcery treatment done. Amar'e Stoudemire got the PRP over the summer, by the way. Metta is the Knicks' most forthright PR guy.

3. Carmelo Anthony hopes to play Thursday, though he'll still probably be battling the effects of that sprained ankle.

4. Melo's favorite Twitter follower is day-to-day with what Dr. Anthony is calling a "glazed donut face ass". No word yet on his availability for Thursday.

Have fun and be safe tonight, dear friends. I love you all.
