It's a win streak! A night after the Knicks more than made up for spotty defense by playing crisp offense and shooting the lights out in Brooklyn, they more than made up for spotty defense by playing crisp offense and shooting the lights out at home against Orlando. New York used drive-and-kicks, pick-and-pops, and a lot of fine work from Carmelo Anthony in the post to set up 17-34 shooting from downtown. Everybody played well.
We'll talk about this much more in the recap tomorrow, but for now: It was nice to see Mike Woodson turn back to the kinds of lineups and tactics that behooved New York last season and have it work out really well. The Knicks looked like the '12-'13 Knicks for the second straight night. Mediocre defense, but SO MUCH OFFENSE that it didn't matter. And the Magic aren't good, but they're not the Nets. Doesn't come close to undoing a month of terror, but it's a second step in the right direction.
Have a great night!
