G'evening, family! I hope everyone is safe and warm and not buried under some snow. If you are buried under some snow, just let us know via comment and we'll come dig you out. The Knicks are in Minnesota tonight to play the Timberwolves, which strikes me as an interesting follow-up to Wednesday's loss to the Wizards. That was an instance of the Knicks getting beat by a quick/creative/poor-shooting point guard and letting a bad three-point shooting team torch them from outside. The Wolves have their own quick/more creative/worse-shooting point guard and comprise the league's worst three-point shooting team by a wide margin. Can the Knicks' defense turn another poor offensive team into a juggernaut? TUNE IN AT 8 TO FIND OUT!
Seriously, though, I hope the Knicks can get back on track against these very depleted Timberwolves. Fully formed, they are a pretty good team. Back in December, they-- even without Kevin Love-- eviscerated New York's perimeter D and looked to have a win in hand before Carmelo Anthony bulled his way to a victory. With this many injuries-- Love, Andrei Kirilenko, Chase Budinger, Malcolm Lee, and Brandon Roy are all out-- Minnesota shouldn't be much competition, but I just don't trust these Knicks to stop anybody anymore. You never know. Maybe the Washington loss will spur them to pick things up defensively. Or maybe they'll just shoot better and it won't matter.
We'll see! Tip-off, again, is at 8. Game thread'll be up in an hour or two. <3
