Friday Knicks Post-Practice Notes

The Knicks spoke to reporters following their last full practice before Game 1 against the Celtics.

The Knicks held their final full practice today in advance of Game 1 on Saturday afternoon. From the sound of things, they let media watch more of the practice than usual, then obviously gave the reporters in attendance some quotes after the fact. Some updates:

- Chris Copeland practiced with the starters (blue jersey) today. With Pablo Prigioni now doubtful for tomorrow despite shooting a bit today, Mike Woodson sounded torn between starting Copeland and starting James White, ostensibly because White is a better match-up with Jeff Green. Neither is a good match-up with Jeff Green, but Cope can at least score, so I hope it's Cope that starts. Cope himself seems to think he's the guy and other reporters got that impression, too.

- No way James White starts. Come on. No way. He won't even play. ...right?

- Iman Shumpert did not practice today for personal reasons. He's good to go for tomorrow.

- Rasheed Wallace hung out at practice today, and it sounds like he'll be keeping the team company throughout the playoffs. This is splendid news.

- You can see Amar'e Stoudemire on the floor in the first link, but Mike Woodson reiterated that he's not going to be back anytime soon. He's still not running yet.

So, that's where things stand. Thankfully, this series won't move to Boston until Friday, by which point there hopefully (so, so hopefully) won't be any dire safety concerns in the area. For the sake of our Boston friends, I hope there's an end to all this fright long before then.
