Good evening! We've got a 7 of clock tip-off in Atlanta tonight. We've also got a starting lineup: Tyson Chandler will play the second of the back-to-back and join Carmelo Anthony, Iman Shumpert, Pablo Prigioni, and Raymond Felton in the lineup once more. Chandler will have to deal with Al Horford while Melo battles Josh Smith and the guards do their darnedest to contain Jeff Teague and Devin Harris.
As stingy d pointed out earlier, this is a meaningful game standings-wise. Not only would a win bolster the Knicks' second-place standing in the East, it'd suppress the Hawks, who are currently in fifth. The hope (at least for me) is that the Hawks will fall below the Bulls so that, even if New York falls to third, they won't have to play the Bulls in the first round. That's nothing against Atlanta. They're a solid team and might very well take a series off the Knicks, but they haven't yet shown they can completely dismantle New York's offense the way Chicago can. Then again, this is just the second meeting of three this season after a close Knicks win in the first game (Recall: the Knicks defended like shit but hit a ton of threes and got a big last-second bucket from Melo). Maybe we don't want the Hawks either. We'll see.
This is your thread. This is Peachtree Hoops. Please don't post large photos, .gifs, or links to illegal streams in the thread. Tip-off is at 7 and the game will be televised on both MSG and ESPN. Get that tenth straight, Knicks!
