Reports: Metta World Peace has agreed to a two-year deal with the Knicks

It took a long, weird time, but Metta World Peace is finally going to be a Knick. Here's what we've heard:

I haven't seen a team vs. player option update yet, and I also haven't seen word on whether this is a minimum contract or the rest of New York's mini MLE (not that there's much of a difference), but will update if I see anything. (Woj now says it's two years, $3.2 million, which sounds like more than the veteran's minimum scale for a player with World Peace's experience. This also makes it sound like the rest of the mini MLE.)

For now: This is pretty cool. Metta is Metta and the Knicks will have to deal with some Metta things, but the gentleman fits pretty nicely, doesn't he? He can play the three and shoot a little bit, but also defend the four and take some pressure off Carmelo Anthony in lineups containing the both of 'em. The Knicks have a whoooole lot of frontcourt options now.

In closing:

There's also this:

Sooooooooo yeah we'll keep following that. Metta does love to Twitter tease. Twease.

Meanwhile, a Summer League game!

Update: Ian Begley confirms it'll be the rest of New York's mini MLE.
