Hey, did the Knicks fix games for drug dealers in the 80s?

Here is an exciting little thing that just came out:

Coked-up Knicks players fixed games as a favor to their drug dealer — who bet big bucks against the anemic New York squad, FBI informants claimed during the 1981-82 season.

The feds probed whether three Knicks, reportedly “heavy users of cocaine,” and their supplier, “one of the largest dealers on the East Coast,” shaved points, according to FBI documents cited in Brian Tuohy’s book, “Larceny Games: Sports Gambling, Game Fixing and the FBI.”

(Not included in this report: allegations that Renaldo Balkman fixed games in the mid-00s as an ill-conceived favor to a vending machine from which he commandeered Pop-Tarts.)

So, uh, that's a pretty bad thing to have allegedly happened! '81-'82 was the team led by guys like Micheal Ray Richardson (who denies this report in present day) and Maurice Lucas and coached by Red Holzman in his final season. Perhaps the ship was sinking because it was laden with drugs and dirty money? It would kinda make sense, given everything I've heard and read about that team.
