Carmelo Anthony left Monday's game in Houston with what the Knicks called "back spasms" and did not return in the second half. I was hoping we'd get an update today -- and we may yet -- on Melo's status, but so far, we just have what was reported last night. Melo was apparently in a lot of pain post-game, so much so that he needed to make a quick run for those extra special pills before the plane left for Dallas:
Melo is flying with team to Dallas but first will visit Houston doctor for pain medication not stored in arena

And there's this:
Carmelo Anthony is expected to fly with the #Knicks to Dallas and was walking on his own, per a team official. That's considered a good sign

I'll add updates if I see any. For now, I just hope Melo doesn't try to play if any part of his person is even slightly below comfortable playing condition.
Update: There we are:
Carmelo Anthony did not practice today in Dallas with the team and is listed as doubtful for tomorrow with back spasms.

Anthony is in Dallas, however, and has not been sent home for tests. Knicks just began practice at SMU. Can't imagine Melo playing in OKC.
