Amar'e Stoudemire could sit the whole west coast trip

Mike DiNovo-USA TODAY Sports

The Knicks play the Kings tonight at 10. Surprise! They play late again Sunday night in Portland, too, then finish a little west coast jaunt on New Year's Eve against the Clippers. From the sound of things, Amar'e Stoudemire won't be available for any of those games. From the Post:

Stoudemire said he will miss Saturday's game in Sacramento and Sunday's game in Portland. He wouldn't rule himself out of the finale in Los Angeles against the Clippers but he sounded concerned.

"We got to figure out how it feels and what's going on,'' Stoudemire said. "I'm sure this week will be rest and recovery week to see if it calms down and get better.''

Note that this is the right knee, not the usual left knee. Amar'e goes on to say he'd been playing through some pain over the last week or two, and that doing so made the knee worse. That, to me, is the *one* thing that shouldn't be happening on this team. All the Knicks do is lose, and there's absolutely no reason for anyone experiencing even a fraction above the usual aching to be part of that. Just please sit. Everyone. Literally every Knick should sit and just let a stack of folded towels face the competition. Do not seriously injure yourself for the sake of a bad, tanking team.
