The Knicks have made several offers to Carmelo Anthony

Phil says he's texted Carmelo since their meeting, but hasn't gotten responses back from him.

So that's something! The max offer is indeed on the table, but so are some others, probably wrapped in explanations of how the Knicks would try to use whatever space Melo allots them. Melo may be mulling a pay cut. That gives me a little hope. Then again:

Phil says that if Melo were to sign a max deal with the #Knicks, it wouldn't hurt what they are trying to do.
