Cole Aldrich had himself a dominant game in Las Vegas Summer League Friday. In real life, he's shown flashes of being a genuinely productive NBA player since joining the Knicks. And right after Aldrich pulled down 14 rebounds in the Knicks' Summer League win over Dallas, the Knicks gave him a new deal, presumably for the veteran's minimum:

I'm happy. I've seen enough fine work on the boards, surprising effectiveness around the basket, interior defense, and passing out of the high post to think Aldrich can be a rotation player in a triangle offense, and I'm glad Phil Jackson and Steve Mills agree. I hope Derek Fisher does, too.
Welcome back, ya big sasquatch:
COLE WOOOOOOOOORLD. Okay, I think that's it. Free agency is over for the Knicks. No other signings to make. Mmhmm.
Update: The Knicks signed Lamar Odom to a non-guaranteed deal at the end of last season hoping he'd prove his worth over the summer. Guess he didn't:

Sorry about that, Lamar. We hardly knew ye.
