The Knicks invited Langston Galloway and Travis Wear to training camp

Hi! The Knicks' roster looks pretty solid and difficult to crack, but they get 20 training camp roster spots, so they might as well fill them. They took a step in that direction today:

New York Knickerbockers President Phil Jackson announced today that the team has signed guard Langston Galloway and forward Travis Wear. Terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Galloway (St. Joseph's) you'll remember from his moments of Summer League brilliance running weak-side Triangle stuff with Jeremy Tyler. Wear, who played at UCLA after transferring from UNC, was also quietly on the Knicks' Summer League roster but hardly played.

You never know -- fringe-y, Vegas-y guys have made the team before -- but I reckon the Knicks are just adding bodies at this point. Perhaps Westchester candidates. The Knicks' roster contains 15 guaranteed contracts, so without an unexpected trade, there just isn't room for someone to sneak in. And since players and their agents probably know that, I don't expect someone truly promising to accept a Knicks invitation. It's a VISCOUS cycle of camp invite mediocrity.

If Galloway does make the team, no one's calling him Gallo. I'm insisting upon that right now.
