Are you ready for "Ten Days with Louie and Lance: The Sequel?" If not, you damn well better get ready!
According to RealGM's Shams Charania, the New York Knicks are set for another 10-day tryout for both Lou Amundson and Lance Thomas:
The New York Knicks have reached agreements on second 10-day contracts with Lou Amundson and Lance Thomas, league sources tell RealGM.— Shams Charania (@ShamsCharania) January 20, 2015
Per NBA rules, this is the final 10-day deal the Knicks can offer either player; once these new contracts are up, New York will have to decide whether to sign each player for the rest of the season or to grant their unconditional release.
Amundson and Thomas were included in the deal that sent Iman Shumpert and J.R. Smith to Cleveland, but were immediately released from their non-guaranteed deals. New York quickly turned and re-signed both to 10-day deals.
The England trip really limited their time to show off for Phil Jackson and Derek Fisher -- they have played only two games with New York -- but both Amundson and Thomas are known quantities at this point. This deal is a whole lot of "meh," with a potential to turn mildly annoying if the Knicks decide to keep them on for the rest of the season.
