Two years ago, Roy Hibbert was a young franchise cornerstone center who absolutely torched the Knicks. Now he is a bit of an overpaid joke...who still torches the Knicks.
Hibbert, who bullied New York's frontcourt to the tune of 18 points and 10 rebounds, took over from the opening tip of the second half, as the Indiana Pacers turned a close game into a laugher with a 35-12 third quarter en route to a 103-82 victory.
Lou Amundson celebrated his new contract with 17 points, but he and the other New York bigs were absolutely dominated on the glass. Langston Galloway had perhaps his worst game in the NBA, scoring four points on 2-10 shooting. Carmelo Anthony only played 25 minutes...on the second night of a back-to-back. Is that good or bad? Probably bad.
And so the Knicks have resumed losing badly. We can only hope that James Dolan isn't on the phone trying to order Phil Jackson to re-sign Andrea Bargnani.
Pull Hibbert out of the paint forever! Recap to come.
