The trade sending J.R. Smith and Iman Shumpert to the Cavaliers has gone through, and the Knicks will finish the move by cutting everyone they acquired (after already waiving Samuel Dalembert):

The word Monday night was that the Knicks would give Thomas a chance, but I guess they've got something else in mind. The dump leaves three roster spots open, one of which will be filled immediately with a ten-day contract for Langston Galloway, who is with the team in Washington and should be ready to play tonight. (He might lead the team in scoring, too.)
Farewell to the Cleveland Three (sorry Lance, I know you came from OKC, but I need to gloss over that for the sake of a cool title). Once Knicks, always Knicks. I really shouldn't have bought this Alex Kirk jersey.
