Robin Lopez dealing with undisclosed injury, is now officially a Knick

Feels like we've been here before, doesn't it?

The regular season opener is only a few days away, which means the Knicks have precious little time to build up their traditionally soul-crushing injury list. Well fear not, my friends -- if there's one thing we can always count on, it's a whole bunch of weird, secret Knicks injuries.

This time, the culprit is starting center Robin Lopez, who has been battling a persistent case of REDACTED this preseason:

"Yeah (I've been dealing with a physical ailment), but it wasn't anything too serious," he said. "I'm on the right track. I'm getting back to where I want to be and I'm almost there. It's nothing serious. Just the regular wear and tear."

Unnamed physical ailment? Nothing serious? Lopez is a Knick now, so the only question is whether he has bubonic plague or pneumonic plague.

This shouldn't come as a surprise, I guess -- Lopez's minutes dropped in his final two games of the preseason, at a time when other starters were ramping up their paying time.

This news comes roughly 13 hours after we learned that shooting guard Arron Afflalo re-injured his hamstring in Thursday night's loss to the Celtics. Hamstring pulls tend to linger, so it would be really cool if the other starters were at full health. Sigh.

Godspeed in your recovery, Robin Lopez and Arron Afflalo. We hope to see you running unimpeded up and down basketball courts next week.
