The New York Knicks have not made the playoffs since Rasheed Wallace retired. Coincidence? I think not!
It warms my heart, then, that the coaching staff is bringing back one of Sheed's most glorious innovations: the championship belt!
The Knicks are playing the Rocky theme song at practice. An assistant coach is wearing a championship belt. I don't know what's happening.

The Knix custom belt is legit though. Shiny and sparkly and gold.

With Rocky theme playing in background, the Knicks unveiled a custom championship belt at practice. It will go to the winner of FT contest.

No word yet on who won the belt, but Bondy did provide us with a few wonderful Andray Blatche anecdotes:
If I remember correctly, Andray Blatche once made a shooting championship belt out of leg wraps. He then wore it on his head.

One time the Players Union gave out condoms during a meeting with Nets players and Andray Blatche left with a giant bag.

I wouldn't want to see Blatche on the Knicks, but I do miss that crazy bastard.
In other news, Fisher remains cryptic as to the identity of the team's Opening Night starter at shooting guard with Arron Afflalo on the shelf with a hamstring injury:
Derek Fisher was so vague about who will start at shooting guard that I can only rule out Lou Admundson.

Also, it looks like the knee problems which Kevin Seraphin some preseason playing time haven't quite gone away:
#Knicks say Arron Afflalo (hamstring), Kevin Seraphin (knee) and Lou Amundson (back) did not practice today.

Get back on the court, you three slackers! If you don't practice, you can't win the belt!
