With the Knicks' first preseason game rapidly approaching, the time seems right for a good old-fashioned injury update. If you had Arron Afflalo in your "First Knick to Miss a Game" office pool, then congratulations!
Doesn't sound Afflalo will play preseason opener vs. Bauru Wed. Or even Washington Friday. Rambo: "We're going to bring him along slow.''

Afflalo will probably wind up in the opening-night starting lineup at shooting guard -- knock on wood -- so it would be nice to get him some game action alongside his new teammates. That said, there's no need to rush a veteran into preseason action. Better to bring him along slow, as Congressional Medal of Honor-winner John Rambo intends to do.
Hang on a second...John Rambo doesn't coach the Knicks. Where was Derek Fisher?
#Knicks say Derek Fisher was not at practice due to personal reasons. Expected back tomorrow. Afflalo (left hamstring) did not practice.

Fair enough. Carmelo Anthony was at practice, however, and he's still mad as hell and not gonna take it anymore!
Carmelo Anthony says "hell no" when asked if he thinks he'd get to a point where he'd ask for a trade this year. "I already came this far."

Carmelo Anthony said the idea that he wanted to get traded and was against the #Knicks picking Porzingis bothered him most this summer.

In conclusion, Afflalo is hurt, Fisher was absent, and Melo is angry. And so I leave you with some videos from Monday's practice. Go Knicks.

(Yeah, I know it was Kurt Rambis talking. I like this better.)
