But Seriously, Who Wins In A Fight: Derek Fisher or Matt Barnes

Official games have yet to begin and already, my favorite NBA story of the season has hit.

According to the New York Post's Ian Mohr, the Matt Barnes drove 95 miles to "beat the shit" out of Knicks Head Coach Derek Fisher because Fisher is seeing Barnes' ex-wife. The full story can be found HERE.

There's just a lot to dissect here. How on earth could anyone be so furious they they maintain that anger for 95 miles, never thinking of any consciences that might arise from breaking into his former home to beat up an NBA coach? Is there some weird kinky stuff going on between these three? Why would Barnes even care if his estranged wife is with a former teammate? By god could this date back even further!? THERE IS SO MUCH I NEED TO KNOW.

I'm sure we will never get the answers though, as Fisher isn't pressing charges and the Grizzles, Knicks, and NBA will likely look to quickly forget about the incident.

But, that doesn't stop us from answering the best hypothetical in all of sports: Who would win in a fight? After all, Fisher supposedly only had a few scratches, likely meaning that the other people he was with held back Barnes. So here we go, who would win in a fight, Grizzles forward Matt Barnes or Knicks Head Coach Derek Fisher? Let's look at the tail of the tape.

Matt Barnes

  • Age- 35
  • Height- 6 ft 7 in
  • Weight- 226 Ib
  • Fighting Ability- Let's not kid ourselves here, Barnes has been in a scrap or two in his life. From his tough upbringing in California to his tough on-court defense, this is a dude who isn't afraid to drop the gloves and throw down. Also, he almost definitely has anger issues considering the dude drove for well over an hour just to fight.
  • Special Ability- Not afraid to fight dirty, just look HERE

Derek Fisher
  • Age- 41
  • Height- 6 ft 1 in
  • Weight- 210 Ib
  • Fighting Ability- Fisher doesn't come off as a fighter and definitely doesn't have size to match Barnes, but he should be able to get inside and win the thinking mans fight. Think Floyd Mayweather. Also, he may or may not have been in a brawl in a Waffle House a few years back, which at least deserves a mention.
  • Special Ability- Forever clutch.
So who would win? Forget about all that "thinking mans fighter" Floyd Mayweather bull shit. Fisher would get his

ass kicked. everyday of the week and twice on sundays. Barnes is bigger than Fisher, younger than Fisher, and

just crazy enough to instill fear. That's a huge advantage.

Winner: Matt Barnes via knockout
