The big Knicks may have dropped below .500, but their little brothers up in Westchester have been taking the D-League by storm, jumping out to a 5-0 record. And they're about to get some help.
That's right, folks ... Jimmer Fredette is back! The former BYU gunner, who was taken by Westchester with No. 2 overall pick in the D-League draft, was re-claimed by the club after being released by the New Orleans Pelicans.
The Glens Falls, NY native became the second GATORADE Call-Up of the 2015-16 NBA Development League season when he was signed by the New Orleans Pelicans on Nov. 10, 2015 under the NBA's injury hardship exception. He appeared in 13 minutes over four games for New Orleans before being waived on Nov. 19, 2015.
So every NBA call-up is sponsored by Gatorade? Then who is sponsoring Jimmer's demotion? Time to step up to the plate, Powerade. You can brand yourself as the official sports drink of failure.
As for the Jimmer Man, he only managed 13 total minutes of playing time on a crappy, injury-decimated Pelicans squad before getting waived, which says something about just how far his NBA stock has fallen. His arrival should make for some entertaining games in Westchester.
