Good evening! The Knicks finish their November schedule tonight against the Rockets. They beat said Rockets in Houston just a week ago. Dwight Howard was out, Kristaps Porzingis was hot, and the two teams traded great shooting nights, with New York surviving in one of my favorite games so far this season.
This time, Dwight's back (and so's Patrick Beverley), the Knicks are coming off a little losing streak instead of a little win streak, and ... well, I hope they can muster the same great shooting and decent bench play that helped them last time. If Kristaps wants to have another career night, I'm fine with that, too.
Zooming out for a moment: A win tonight would give the Knicks a 9-9 record headed into what *should* be an easier early December. Even a loss and an 8-10 record against a schedule of moderate difficulty would constitute a better opening month than I expected. They've been way up, they've been way down recently, and overall, things are quite okay. I'm pretty happy that a team recovering from its worst/incorporating so many brand new players has reached "okay" status this quickly.
Anyway! Tip-off at/on MSG comes at 7:30 EST this evening. This is your game thread. This is The Dream Shake. Please don't post large photos, GIFs, or links to illegal streams in the thread, and please do your best to keep the thread hospitable and enjoyable for everyone involved. That means not being obnoxious *and* it means not engaging with people you deem to be obnoxious. Have fun in here. Keep it light. Recognize when a conversation is not appropriate for the moment or not worth your time.
Go the Knicks!
UPDATE:
Well, shit, Melo -- who was listed among the starters -- caught himself a bug minutes before tip-off:
Carmelo Anthony (illness) will not dress tonight. Lance Thomas will start.
