That sucked. The Knicks needed to tank, and they did, and I'm thankful for it, but it sucked. We had to watch our team lose 65 times over a period of six months and just take it. Many of us even rooted for it, knowing the losses could increase our fortune to come. That feels terrible, and I'm so glad it's over.
It is, of course, not over for the Knicks themselves. That was the prelude, a downslope into the muck before what we hope will be a steady upward climb. For the organization, the hard part awaits. For us, it just ended. They say New York fans can't handle a rebuild and ... well, I'm not sure they're wrong. I'm not certain we "handled" that demolition part. We all went kinda nuts. But we did survive, and I think we deserve a break before we start fretting too hard over the lottery and the draft and free agency and the future. For a moment, I recommend we relax. Take a deep breath and appreciate the fact that we made it here.
I love each of you, I'm glad you stuck with P&T this dreary season, and I hope we can look forward to following a good team, and maybe someday a great team. Go the Knicks!
