Knicks Trade Rumors: Here's one saying the Knicks could get the Nuggets' #7 and Jusuf Nurkic

Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports

I saw this first via The Knicks Blog because it came from Sam Smith, whose reporting I do not typically seek. Here it is:

The Timberwolves, Lakers and 76ers are expected to use their picks. But then the Knicks at No. 4 have been much rumored to possibly trade down. One move making the rounds lately has them going to Denver and No. 7 for No. 4 and getting Jusuf Nurkic, the rugged big man the Nuggets got from the Bulls in the two-for-one swap for the rights to Doug McDermott.

7 and [Nuggets player] is up there with 13 and Eric Bledsoe among trade ideas that have been drooled out so often that I don't really know what to think of them anymore. This is the first time I've heard anyone ~~~report~~~ such a conversation with Nurkic included instead of, say, Ty Lawson. It is my favorite version of this idea thus far. Nurkic just had pretty serious knee surgery, but he's big and young and fun and 7 is still quite a good pick. This is not a report or reporter that gets me particularly excited without someone else confirming, but I do like this one more than some comparable rumors!

The upshot of everything we've heard from reporters (as opposed to what we've heard from Phil Jackson himself) is that there's still a decent chance the Knicks trade down, perhaps for Trey Lyles or Frank Kaminsky. If that is the case, they're surely waiting to see who's available at 4 with contingencies in place.

I'm so excited for all this to be over!
